Bolton & District Cricket Association

Since 1888 over 300 clubs have played under the auspices of the Bolton Association, which taking into account 2nd & 3rd XI's for many of them means well over 500 teams have competed in one or other of our competitions. Some of these clubs stayed around for just one season (or didn't even see out the season), some for many many years.

Inevitably - particularly in the early years - many of the clubs were either church based (the Methodists being particularly active) or attached to works social clubs. Over the years these links have gradually disappeared as grounds have been lost to developers, or churches and factories closed down, but each of these clubs has played a part in our rich history - no matter how small.

The links below will take you to a comprehensive A-Z list of all the clubs that have played in the Bolton Association since 1888. Just click on the letter and all the clubs are listed there together with changes of name or mergers.
